DIY Twin Cities Indymedia branding, quarter sheets & press passes

As we kick start our media space today, we of course need to get some press passes for independent journalists coming to town.

We are calling out to all our new friends in town to help with this task. Lamination would be great, Office Depot and OfficeMax have boxes of cheap lanyards. Please DIY if possible.

Additionally we have some quarter sheets to hand out, as well as useful graphic elements for branding TC-IMC! If you want to pitch in, go right ahead and do it. (It would be great if quarter sheets can be distributed both on Sunday evening and during the RNC itself). If anyone - both here in town or elsewhere - can take a shot at making better looking quarter sheets, it would be most appreciated!! (We were wingin' it, k?)

With the extreme abuse of journalists widely witnessed yesterday, it's all the more important to point out to everyone that Media is NOT a Crime:

Also a more plain info sheet is available as lovely quarter sheets: Admittedly the look is a little jumbled.

Buzz watch: it would be nice if people can aggregate more RNC Twin Cities stories in summary style - so that we can have better 'situational awareness' of the Internet generally.

We read a pretty funny story wherein someone totally unfamiliar with Twin Cities Indymedia (and IMCs generally) was unaware that we are an open publishing community newswire - and thus had quite an overwrought and mistaken impression of what we are about. We do not censor content except under editorial guidelines, and much like everywhere else on the Internet there are a lot of trolls, blustering, and anonymous comments. Even, yes, for the Republican National Convention.

However, most local journalists who have to deal with their own scorching comment threads see this in a realistic perspective.
