Illegal Police Raid on Anti-RNC Convergence Space in St. Paul

That's exactly what this is. They know all these protesters are going to be in one place at one time, so they get all their names jotted down. When the convention comes around, expect all these people to conviently be picked up and arrested for various reasons... or there will simply be a list of people to be arrested if they're seen around the convention. There will be no charges, they'll just hold them for the 24-hours they're allowed before booking them, possibly try and hit them with something like "disorderly conduct" and release them... after the convention.

This is how the police tip-toe around the law to making things like this run smoothly, and that's all they care about. Both conventions are all about image, not substance.

Police bash down the door? Is that what is known in the legal profession as a 'No-knock' raid? On what possible grounds would probable cause for the issuance of a no-knock warrant be justified ? A 'rumor' someone was making a bomb? Not sufficient.

What about presentment of the search warrant?

What about the difference between being detained in a house where a search warrant is being executed and everyone being handcuffed?? There is no need for the handcuffs. There was no need for the no knock warrant.

There is no need for people who are aware that our society is leaning fascistic to suffer fools like you who quibble over some minor technicality that someone got wrong (you are not entitled to counsel at that stage but you are entitled to your miranda warnings - were those given?) - and entirely miss the forest for the trees. This is rank intimidation and police state fear mongering. I would also say a prior restraint on protected 1st amendment protest activity. Not to mention potentially tortious and/or criminal assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

When the cops initiate violence, it is only themselves they can blame for the predictable consequences of their actions.

I am so sick of the words CHANGE and HOPE. Do you really believe Obama will change shit? You are seriously misguided if you believe anything will happen other than the further stripping of our rights, and the coming third world war. He may be a great Orator, ill give him that. But did he stand before you on the day of his speech at the DNC and talk about the brutality of protesters outside the DNC? Did he condemn the police for surrounding and pepper spraying the protesters in hope that they would lash back? This country needs to think about how much these two candidates have talked about the police state we are becoming, the wiretapping, the indefinite detainment, the police brutality. They only murmur about this because they could care less. You want 4 more years of bush? VOTE FOR EITHER ONE. I promise you there will be only minor changes with both.

To protest like Gandhi or Mlk is one thing. The people involved with this group believe and practice anarchist and if that is what they believe and want then move to Baghdad .Group like this are the same groups who protest soldiers funerals and throw piss at them when they come home. Soldiers are the same people who stand for the freedom these people have.

this bickering is the problem. this is what the powers that be want. they want you divided on menial issues while they run amok and hijack our govt and laugh at us. im going to vote, but, everyone should know that the electoral college destroys the integrity of the election, and always has. pay attention. do you not remember the last two elections? funny everything keeps going right down the middle. its all cooked up. its orchestrated in such a way that lends itself to letting us believe we still count. you think that people that execute these raids amongst all the other illegal activities are going to play fair? guess again. research the disclosures for the ohio voting fraud in the last election. there are taped confessions from the software designers who designed the software to rig the electronic voting!!!!!! stop being fooled!!!! they placate you with some down to the wire, right down the middle election, meanwhile the situation gets worse for us. if we as people cannot set aside our petty differences and unite for each other, we as a country, and furthermore humanity, are doomed. the time has come to be more proactive. it takes more than a vote, it takes more than standing with a sign outside of some convention. if we want peace and progress, we must become the architects of it, and demonstrate it with actions and true conviction. they have seperated us as human beings from our higher self, and dumbed us down. we as humans have a responsibility to locate and refuse these things, which are things they have taught us to love and accept as personal freedoms and rights, and to even fight for, we must refuse these things and create a new standard of living. the old way obviously isnt working, and i think everyone can agree on that....
