Media strategies

Someone posted on Indymedia yesterday suggesting that activists consider the mainstream media as targets during the DNC and RNC. This is a good idea. According to reports, a group of protesters ran up on Chris Matthews and MSNBC and got their platforms heard before a national audience. That same tactic could work with every news outlet around.

Another possibility is for each and every affinity group to constantly send press releases and video clips articulating their grievances and proposed solutions to national media outlets. Line up your crew and have everyone freestyle some real political arguments, then send the video file to Democracy Now!, the New York Times, Fox News, etc. Do the same thing while we are in the streets this week and next week. Load them up on YouTube. Constantly bombard the MSM with messages and a few are bound to get picked up. Don't just send communiques through Indymedia, send them to the fat cats, too.

And if you see a roving Fox News Truck doing a livefeed from Denver or St. Paul, run up on them and give them something to talk about:)
