River forecasts in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin woefully inadequate
Flood forecasts issued by National Weather Service (NWS) offices for the Cedar and Rock rivers in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin have been woefully too low - catching the public off-guard (see links below).

According to NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS), it's Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service (AHPS) are "information-rich forecast products" which "display the magnitude and uncertainty of occurrence of floods or droughts, from hours to days and months, in advance".
In witnessing the recording breaking flooding taking place now in the Midwest - nothing could be further from the truth! The NWS North Central River Forecast Center (NCRFC), located in Chanhassen, MN, is responsible for issuing AHPS products and flood predictions for Midwest (all or parts of IA, WI, MN, ND, SD, IL, IN, MI, MO) rivers.
