Midnight Mystery Ride

09/20/2008 00:00

This Saturday, September 20th is the Midnight Mystery Ride.

People will be meeting in Currie Park from 11pm onward, and at midnight we ride! Currie Park is on 15th Ave S between S 6th St and S 5th St, across from the Bedlam Theatre. It is accessible via the Greenway as well as the Lightrail (Cedar-Riverside).

The idea is to meet at the park and ride bikes en masse to an undisclosed location where we can hang out and have fun. Why an undisclosed location? Because surprises are exciting, "authorities" won't know where we're going, and if people want to know where we're going they'll have to join us to find out!

Bring food, snacks, beverages, booze (for those old enough and so inclined), bike stuff people may want or need (lights, patch kits, pumps, etc.), and music (radio, [mobile]sound-system, instruments). Any and all kinds of performers, such as jugglers, fire-dancers, musicians, storytellers or anything you can think of are encouraged to come along and entertain.

The Bedlam Theatre is having a performance and dialogue Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights titled "Because We Still Live Here," about what happened here during the RNC and how to sustain momentum in our communities. What better way to keep moving forward then to immediately afterward have a mass bike ride and a party in a public place? See you there!
