Felony RNC Appearance on Mon, Feb 2 (CORRECTED)

(CORRECTION)

I just learned that this court date is not as important as I thought (the actual jury trial will start, if at all, in the next 2 months). This means that solidarity is no longer needed (but I will still need court watchers). The collective energy of the community can be put to better use elsewhere. Thank you for all of your support and I will let you know when my actual trial starts.

Solidarity Forever,
Keep the struggle alive,
sincerely,
Daniel Bono

On Tuesday, September 2nd I, Daniel Bono of Chicago, was arrested at gun point and held in solitary confinement for three days while on a hunger strike. On Monday, February 2 I will go on trial at 9:00 am at the Ramsey County Courthouse. I am facing very serious, and obviously bogus, felony charges stemming from the first day of the RNC and I need the support of the Minnesota activist community in the court room. We must show the judge, the prosecutor, and the jury that we will not be intimidated and we will fight all charges surrounding the RNC as a united community. This is a very important case in that it will set the standard for many of the other felony trails to come. Also, the fact that I am facing the possibility of 22 ½ years in jail for non-violent civil disobedience is very serious in of itself.

You can help me in several ways during these trying times. You can show up to my trial as a court watcher or as an act of solidarity (please stand when the court asks me, the defendant, to stand). This will show all in the room that I am not alone in this struggle. Also, you can donate your time or money to the Community RNC Arrestee Support Structure ( http://rnc08arrestees.wordpress.com/ ) or throw a benefit show/event for travel funds for the RNC arrestees. I hope to see all of your smiling faces in court.

Solidarity Forever,
Keep the struggle alive.
