This documentary is told from Jen’s perspective, a US woman and CASA Board
Member who attempts to humanize the issue of immigration by visiting her
undocumented co-workers’ families in Mexico. Through interviews and
encounters with community members in Ocotitlan, the town her co-workers came
from, the documentary illustrates the conditions that force people to leave
their homes as they are pushed into a mythical search for better lives in
the US. The documentary lends an intimate look at the various manifestations
of the US-Mexico border, and guides viewers back into the US as Jen connects
her immigrant friends with video footage from hometowns some can only dream
of visiting. The film ends with riveting images from pro-immigrant marches
thereby turning the camera lens to the audience to ask: what cross-border
work can we do to support new Americans in the USto see the trailer visit
