Having gone through personal trauma during the turbulent '60s, Mum wanted a quiet life: a librarian's position in a quiet town. But the unresolved past has its part in the present, and the present is no picnic either: from COINTELPRO and the Panthers to the PATRIOT Act, Big Brother continues to hover.
