Minneapolis City Council considering inclusion of MN-ASAP Resolution for an upcoming agenda
The Minneapolis City Council is now considering inclusion of the MN ASAP resolution for an upcoming agenda. The MN ASAP resolution calls for a shift in federal spending priorities from war to meeting essential needs in our communities.
This resolution has been individually endorsed by Minneapolis Council Members: Cam Gordon, Gary Schiff, Kevin Reich, John Quincy, Elizabeth Glidden, and Robert Lilligren.
Our strongest supporter on the Minneapolis City Council urges calls and emails to other council members. Please make the call now. If the office is closed, leave a message and follow up with an email. Form a “call tree.” Call 5-10 friends. Urge them to call 5-10 friends. MN ASAP does not have the organizational capacity to make all the necessary calls on staff time. We need your help!
If you do make the call / send an email, please let us know: minnesotaasap@gmail.com

Hello, (offer name, address, and phone number). I am requesting the Minneapolis City Council debate and vote on the MN ASAP resolution (concerning military spending) in November or December of 2012. We want the Minneapolis City Council to weigh in on connections between bloated military spending and cuts at the local level, i.e. ‘Community Development Block Grants.’ The Saint Paul City Council passed the MN ASAP resolution unanimously. Over 70 churches, non-profits, and peace groups in MN have endorsed this resolution, along with 39 members of the MN State Legislature. Please join the discussion and take a public stand. Due to conversations now underway concerning sequestration and the "fiscal cliff," it is important that Minneapolis council members weigh in now.
