ALF Frees Dozens of Pheasants from Oregon Game Farm

Animal Liberation Front frees birds from farm outside Portland.

In a communique posted by Bite Back, the Animal Liberation Front took credit for releasing "dozens" of pheasants from Primrose Pheasant Farm in Canby, Oregon. The communique alluded to the purpose of the farm: breeding birds for both their flesh, and canned hunts.

Scott DeMuth Has Been Released!

We're excited to let you all know that Scott was released earlier today and is on a bus heading back home to Minneapolis! His prison sentence is now complete and he's excited to be coming home. While he still has a year of supervised release ahead of him, he'll once again be with his family, friends, comrades, and loved ones here in the Twin Cities.

Cronk's Having Problems, Feds Harassing David Pellow and National Day of Solidarity for Scott DeMuth

Assistant U.S. Attorney Clifford R. Cronk III seems to be having some problems. Back on June 14, Judge Thomas J. Shields ordered him to provide the evidence from the second superseding indictment against Scott DeMuth that he hadn’t already coughed up. Shields also ordered him to provide a number of particulars about the indictment, including exactly what Scott is alleged to have done that is illegal, whom he is alleged to have done it with, and when he is alleged to have done it. You know, basics like that. Cronk had until June 21 to hand over that info.

Brain Freeze* Yer Way to Helping Scott's Legal Defense Fund!

Come out to Powderhorn Park (by the stage) for vegan and dairy ice cream to help us raise some funds for Scott's legal defense fund. His next pre-trial date isn't until August, but preparing for trial is stressful too. And it may be hot. And we don't really need an excuse to eat ice cream anyway!

Plus, there'll be live music by Bla Bla Blacksheep and other bands!

Scott DeMuth's Trial Scheduled for Sept. 13

In a conference call yesterday with the judge and prosecutor, Scott’s trial was scheduled for September 13th. Various deadlines for discovery and motions were set, including May discovery deadlines for both the defense and prosecution and a pre-trial conference on August 23rd.

1. Update on Carrie Feldman

On Friday, January 22, we found out that the appeal of the motions for Carrie’s release was denied. This decision means that she will remain a hostage of the state for an indeterminate length of time, up to the remainder of the grand jury (9 more months).
