TIME CORRECTION: The town hall meeting at the Sabathani Center to address that the MINNEAP0LIS CIVIL RIGHTS DEPARTMENT is being put on the chopping block will be from 2PM to 4PM (NOT 6pm as first notice said)

NOTE: the Minneapolis meeting last night on Thursday was very diverse! Somali people, GLBT community, African-Americans, Muslim people, Greens, Hmong people,disabled people, Jewish activists....an all-too-rare coalition of many different people in our community is coming together to preserve the Minneapolis Civil Rights Department. Union civil rights activists this weekend celebrated the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., by committing to hold the new administration and Congress accountable and carry on the work they did in the 2008 election to mobilize workers in support of a strong progressive agenda.

Although the RNC Welcoming Committee had an uplifting meeting today in Powderhorn Park with hundred of supporters, ready to regroup and continue action after yesterday's raids, more signs of further conflict with the military state are surfacing.
