At the University of the District of Columbia on March 21 & 22, about 500 college-age feminists from around the country clapped and cheered through lecture after lecture-- until Sunday afternoon. Then, when comments and questions were finally taken by the young women who organized the conference within the Feminist Majority Foundation, delegates voiced their concerns at a mic. in the dim auditorium.

Four students from Augsburg College, in the only delegation from Minnesota, commented that the conference's political focus was unbalanced. (I was the fifth person in the delegation.)

This letter was sent to the administration following the decision to ban political speakers from campus. It was also sent to media: local and nationwide. A protest is scheduled for Monday, October 27th at 11:50 AM on the steps Derham Hall on the campus in Saint Paul.

In light of the recent decision by the College of St. Catherine administration to disallow both Senator Hillary Clinton and conservative pundit Bay Buchanan from speaking on campus, the students of St. Kate’s feel compelled to offer a response to the situation.

GBBS Mankato has been birthed to provide an outreach for stranded 18+ young adults needing food, a place to sleep, or someone to help them plan for college.
