Philippine social movements storm US Embassy

Philippine social movements hit G-20 summit’s exclusivity, call for a new and democratic world order

Manila, Philippines – A thousand protesters marched to the United States Embassy today to denounce the formal opening of the G-20 summit called by US President George W. Bush in Washington D.C to supposedly resolve the ongoing global financial crisis. The big demonstration, which is part of the Global Day of Action against the G-20 Summit, branded the gathering as an “elite jamboree” that has the sole objective of “resurrecting a dead and flawed development paradigm.”

Barack Obama, new mouthpiece of ruling class

The workers of America and the world should not expect changes in their favor from the government, the capitalist crisis which commenced last year will get worse and last much longer, with serious consequences for workers. Perhaps slowly, but inexorably, it increases and continues to increase the intensity of exploitation, the number of unemployed, to lower real wages. The crises of overproduction - not overproduction in relation to the needs of the population, but to the market - are a congenital phenomenon of capitalism.
