Once again, the Arise! Books collective is hosting a series of free weekly events all summer long! Events start each sunday night at 8pm, ending with a film screening in the backyard after sundown.
June 21 Good Minnesotan release party for Yearbooks, written and illustrated by Nicholas Breutzman.
There will be a free screening of THE PIG PICTURE, a film on concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) in the pork industry. The documentary is produced by the Humane Farming Association's (HFA) Campaign Against Factory Farming. Thursday, July 9th at 1:30 PM, Dave Mahoney will be sentenced by Judge Flynn at the Ramsey County Courthouse, 15 W Kellogg Boulevard, St. Paul.
There will almost certainly be jail time involved, and Dave will be taken into custody at the conclusion of the hearing. Come to support him and all targets of state repression!

Say no to Racism and Nazis! On July 11 a group of racists will gather in Austin to call for the deportation of immigrants, Blacks, Asians, Latinos, homosexuals and Jews.
Their event is set for 2 p.m. in front of the Mower County courthouse. This group identifies itself as Nazis and calls itself the National Socialist Movement. Join with us in a counterprotest and show them they are not welcome in our community. We will stand up and show that no human is illegal, immigrant rights are workers rights, and we oppose racism in our community.
