Organizing for Trade Justice

When: Monday, May 23 at 6:00pm

Where: Bethany Lutheran Church, 2511 Franklin Ave E, Minneapolis

Why: t's crunch time with the pending Korea, Colombia and Panama free trade agreements and only through a collective effort will they be defeated.  Whether your organization is concerned about reigning in corporate control of our policies, immigration, good jobs and wages, human and labor rights, the environment, democracy, family farms, product safety - you have a stake in trade policy decisions happening RIGHT NOW in Congress.  You need to help sound the message loud and clear:  We won’t stand for these corporate trade deals!

Join the Minnesota Fair Trade Coalition, Colombian unionist Gerardo Cajamarca, supporters of Witness for Peace, and other trade justice organizers as we learn and share information about the trade agreements, coordinate efforts to ensure their defeat,  and advocate for a more fair way of doing trade!

We have no time to waste in making our opposition heard.   Administration officials have indicated that they would like to approve the FTAs by this summer.  If we have any chance of stopping them, we have to act now to make it clear that this is both a bad political and moral decision.  So, we hope you’ll get involved!
