I've know this dude for 25-30 years. And if someone called him smarmy, it would be an understatement. Ever the seeker of spotlights, it's no wonder he exposed himself (maybe in more ways than one) after the fact. Ever seeking to be special.

Andy: I am hurt- MAYBE before 1980 I was smarmy. (Back when I voted DFL)
Now I really think I have moved on to arrogant and curmudgeony.
