Rice

Corporations like Cargill are profiting from the soaring price of rice while people in the third world are starving. A short term solution to the rising cost of rice worldwide, is to decrease demand. If those in the rich west decrease, or stop eating and buying rice for the rest of the year, that would force the price down, thereby relieving the poor in the third world.

I can no longer in good conscience eat rice while my people lack the means to afford this most basic staple of their diet.
